Tired of hearing overseas development being attacked in the media? Proud of the life-saving programmes that help children thrive? Want to speak out but not sure how you can make a difference? Join us!

Look no further. We’re building a team of people like you who care about the power of UK aid, the life-changing international development programmes that are funded by the British taxpayer. Campaign Champions work in their local communities to raise awareness of the issues affecting children around the world, and take action to ensure politicians act in their interests. They’ve achieved brilliant things in recent years, from highlighting the plight of Rohingya children fleeing atrocities in Myanmar to standing up for children of Yemen who are currently enduring the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.

We’re launching an exciting new programme, which aims to demonstrate to decision-makers the latent support that exists for UK aid in communities across the country.

Our unique approach will use a technique called ‘deep canvassing’. This involves having one-to-one conversations with members of the public, to understand different views about overseas development aid, and really listen to each other. This will help you to build your own understanding of what your neighbours think, to find allies, and help you to make a powerful case for UK aid. You’ll then be supported to take what you’ve heard to your MP, and call on them to take action in parliament to champion life-saving aid programmes.

You’ll be given everything you need to take part. You’ll receive a short in-person or online training on how to talk to people in your local area about UK aid, and be given printable resources to take out on to the street with you.

We know that there is a quiet but significant segment of the public that supports UK aid, but it is not always visible to people in power. With your help, we can change amplify their voices, and help children across the world to survive and thrive.
