Cost of the Diet Volunteer

Save the Children’s Cost of the Diet tool helps us to get a better understanding of how poverty affects nutrition and estimate the minimum cost of a nutritious diet. It’s been used all over the world since 2005 to help with programme design, improving diet and advocating for people and families who can’t afford a nutritious diet because of high food prices. The results from CotD assessments help us to make improvements in the quality and affordability of a nutritious diet.

This is a great opportunity for you to gain experience in nutrition and get involved in a variety of CotD related tasks. You’ll be testing new versions of the software and telling the Software Engineer and Information Systems team about any bugs or problems.

Some of the admin stuff you'll be doing is answering CotD emails and going to meetings (but only if you’re in on the day the meetings are happening). You’ll also be adding CotD assessments to the data base (when, where, by whom and for what purpose) and helping us organise webinars or other meetings around cost of the diet.

You’re not on your own as you’ll be supporting the Senior Research and Impact Advisor who’ll be on hand.

We’re looking for someone who can volunteer 1-2 days a week for six months in our Farringdon office. These days can be flexible to fit around your other commitments. So, if you’re over 18, click on Apply.
